Delegates of LICOGI Corporation – JSC visiting and working in Japan

Being invited by Japan Earth Moving Constructors Association - JEMCA, LICOGI Corporation - CTCP sent a delegation to visit and work in Japan from 4 to 8 December 2018, led by Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - Vice Chairman cum General Director. Mr. Nguyen Trong Thanh - Head of HR Department of LICOGI Corp. - JSC and Mr. Duong Tuan Phong - Director of LICOGIMEC also came along with the delegation.
In the morning of December 4th, upon arriving in Nagoya, LICOGi's delegates were welcomed by Mr. TSUMI - Chairman of MIZUTANI Group at airport. Afterthat, Mr. TSUMI took the delegation to visit TOYOTA CITY site, where LICOGI's machine operators are working in.

In the early afternoon, the delegation came to MIZUTANI headquarters in KUWANA - Mie Japan. Japanese representative informed about the studying and working conditions of LICOGI’s trainees. They are very hardworking, eager to learn, and strictly comply with regulations and disciplines. He also added that their upcoming plan is to receive about 70 trainess of LICOGI to work for construction sites in Japan.

On behalf of LICOGI, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - General Director thanked the leaders of MIZUTANI for caring and taking care of LICOGI’s trainess. He also pledged to recruit best machine operators in Vietnam to work at MIZUTANI Company in the future.

In the morning of December 5th, LICOGI’s delegates left NAGOYA to go to TOKYO capital to meet JEMCA. JEMCA is now an important partner of LICOGI, who have been receiving more than 100 workers to work for Japanese companies. JEMCA is also appointed by MLIT to be the representative to receive about 5,000-6,000 trainees per year from Vietnam. If the new licensing law is passed by the National Assembly, as MLIT’s representative, JEMCA commits to receiving 1,500-2,000 workers of all kinds from LICOGI. At the meeting, JEMCA's representative explained to the delegation about the regime of new skilled foreign trainees working in Japan. There are 2 types: Trainees with type 1 are eligible to reside in Japan for 3 to 5 years and those with type 2 are eligible to reside for unlimited time in Japan. If new laws are approved by the Japanese National Assembly on December 10th, 2018.
In the afternoon, LICOGI delegates met Japan Tunneling Association and also had a meeting at YAMAZAKI Construction Company.

At YAMZAKI Company, Mr. SUZUKI said, 27 years ago, the Company had received 30 Vietnamese workers, of which 10 were from VINACONEX. Currently, the Company has more than 100 Philippine employees. He also said the Company will receive construction workers from LICOGI in the future.
Through the meeting, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai also expressed his sincere thanks to the leaders of the Company for welcoming the delegation and hoped they will create more favorable conditions so that more LICOGI’s workers have opportunities to work here.
At the meeting with JRE Rock Drilling and Consultancy Company, Mr. NAKASHIMA - Vice Chairman of JRE introduced the establishment and development of JRE. JRE was established in 1972 with the staff scale of 90 people, based in TOKYO. Mr. NAKASHIMA also thanked LICOGI Corp. and LICOGIMEC for sending good and hardworking trainees to work here. Additionally, he also promised to recruit more workers from LICOGI to work in JRE sites in Japan.

In the morning of Dec. 6th, the delegation had a meeting with three functional departments of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism – MLIT.

Mr. DEGUCHI - Deputy Director of Japan Economic and Industrial Affairs thanked LICOGI’s leader for sending trainees to work for Japanese companies. Mr. DEGUCHI also said that the National Assembly is discussing laws on new licensing of foreign workers to work permanently in Japan, if approved by the National Assembly, MLIT will send officials to Vietnam to meet LICOGI, execute recruitment in Vietnam, and hopes to be supported by LICOGI in Vietnam.

In the late afternoon of the same day, LICOGI delegation had a meeting at the Advanced Construction Technology Center (ACTEC). Mr. SATO – representative of ACTEC – welcomed LICOGI’s delegates. He said that he came to Vietnam 3 times in 2018 and expressed his admiration to this countries and people. He also said that Japan's population is now getting older while Vietnam's population is young ones and is said to be a golden population, which is an advantage of Vietnam. He also hoped for the collaboration between both sides. He proposed the idea of ​​cooperation to call for Japanese companies and organizations to invest in facilities and teaching technology in 3 training institutions of LICOGI, send Japanese experts to execute short-term training courses at these 3 institutions  so that trainees could obtain the best knowledge and skills before going to work in Japan. This cooperation is made based on the spirit of Win-Win.

In the morning of Dec. 7th, LICOGI’s delegation visited some typical works characterized by Japanese architecture, then ended the short but busy business trip to return Vietnam.
