MLIT’s delegates visiting Vietnam

From June 24th to 26th, MLIT’s delegates, led by Mr. Hidejiro SUZIKI – Deputy Head of Industry, Construction and Land Economics, MLIT and 13 Japan Associations of Construction, have made a visit to Licogi Corporation – JSC, College of Mechanics Construction and other vocational institutions of Mistry of Construction of Vietnam. The business trip aims at Investigating and Exchanging information related to the acceptance of foreign specified skilled workers in Japan, under new Laws on permission, which come into force and effect from April 2019.
In the afternoon of June 25th, a meeting was held between LICOGI Corporation-JSC and MLIT’s delegates in LICOGI office in order to boost the development of construction human resources. Main topics in the meeting include assignment and acceptance of foreign specified skilled trainees, schedule regarding Vietnamese workers under new laws, standards and eligibilities of accepting company and list of skills (2019), etc.

“Japan is always a significant partner in term of economics and trade, relatively contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam. Additionally, construction human resources have been being main item in the cooperation between two nations. LICOGI Corp. JSC is willing to facilitate so that MLIT’s delegates may investigate and select location to hold skill tests and Japanese-Language Proficiency Test – level N4”, shared by Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, General Director of LICOGI Corp. JSC. Regarding to worker acceptance, Japanese National Assembly has officially approved and published new Laws on accepting foreign specified skilled workers from April 1st. This program expects to accept 345,000 foreign workers from countries with Convention on Foreign Labor agreed between them and Japan, including Vietnam. Mr. Duong Tuan Phong – Director of LICOGIMEC – also discussed and shared more information as well as explained to all questions related to worker recruitment, limitations and advantages with new law publishment in coming time.
Mr. Phan Thanh Hai believed that upon this meeting and the solid cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, there are more and more Vietnamese workers, who come to work in Japan, and they will contribute a high-quality human resource to Vietnam in generally and to LICOGI in specially, when coming back hometown.
Mr. H. SUZUKI highly appreciated the warm welcome of LICOGI and shared that Japanese construction companies also highly evaluate workers from LICOGI because of their clever and hardworking. This is the reason why they come to seek more opportunities of cooperation with LICOGI so as to further satisfy all requirements of new program.
After that, delegates visited the classroom for mechanic workers, who are managed and selected by LICOGIMEC so that LICOGIMEC can supply mechanic workers for Japanese construction companies.

MLIT’s delegates and Japan Associations of Construction also made a visit to College of Mechanized Construction to investigate, discuss and enhance the cooperation between parties under new laws.
